About Yuta Kuratate
Hello, I'm Yuta Kuratate, CEO of Delta HQ. I started this blog hoping that by sharing what I personally think about and how I approach business, it might help move the global tourism industry in a better direction. I'm not naturally someone who seeks the spotlight, so there haven't been many opportunities for people to understand the passion behind our work. I'd be happy if this reaches anyone involved in our business.
Let me briefly introduce myself.
After graduating from university, I joined Moneytree in 2013 — a FinTech startup combining finance and technology. Despite knowing very little, I was fortunate to work with experienced mentors and developed solid marketing skills. At the time, "FinTech" had just started appearing in the Nikkei newspaper, and I gained invaluable experience at the frontier of finance and technology.
I had originally planned to start my own business after about three years at a startup, so I left in 2016 and co-founded Kyoto Samurai Expereince — an activity business in my hometown of Kyoto. While I had an interest in tourism growing up in Kyoto, my main strengths were in marketing and IT. A chance encounter with my co-founder (now the current CEO) made the launch possible. I stepped away from management once the business was on track, and Kyoto Samurai Experience has since grown into one of Japan's top-rated activities, welcoming visitors from around the world.
After that, I worked on consulting for inbound tourism operators, ryokans and hotels, services for foreign residents in Japan, and e-commerce site renewals for major companies — handling business development, marketing, and project management across various sectors. Before I knew it, FinTech x Tourism x Business Development had become my three pillars. When COVID hit, I planned a full-scale re-entry into the tourism industry for the post-pandemic era. In December 2022, I founded DELTA HQ in Singapore, and in October 2023 we launched Delta PMS — an all-in-one SaaS platform for the hospitality industry.
My hobbies are backpacking, surfing, snowboarding, visiting hidden hot springs, and great food.
